PPP Personal Branding: Portfolio

I have started to develop my personal branding and my website in accordance to the business card design that I previously created.

My main colours are:

  • Black
  • Orange
WHY?
  • The black highlights the orange nicely making it pop more and more striking.
  • Orange - I'm using the colour orange as personally I like the colour. Also, it's a very versatile colour that complements and contrasts various colours and shades. By itself, it gives off a very vibrant and inviting feel, however, when paired with different colours it effectively changes the mood, meaning, connotations etc. For example, orange and yellow - very summery, happy, bright BUT orange and purple can be luxurious, connotes to sweetness like chocolate. By using using orange, I want to reflect my versatility as a designer and how even though I don't necessarily have a style, I am able to work in various fields and use my skills in different ways that are effective for a brief.
Typeface
WHY?
  • Using a contemporary serif type, I think it reflects how I want to be perceived as forward thinking and how I gravitate towards culturally rich topics. It presents a very formal but modern tone that I want to portray through my personal brand.
*I picked briefs which I thought displays my field interest (branding, publication, editorial) and strengths as a designer, which will be helpful especially when sending them to studios who specialise in these fields as well. Hopefully, it will portray who am I am to potential employers when finding work placements.
