Extended Practice Brief #5: Email Exchange [Ruban X Graphic Design]

After the first meet up with Ruban and showing her my ideas for the branding and discussing which direction we should take next and the other collateral that she want for the time before our second meeting we decided to communicate through email to keep the work going and so were both aware of what we're both doing and thinking for the collab as well as doing design decisions together.
During our email convo we talked and decided on:

• postcard pictures
• final business card design to create physical mock up finally!
• going for a more appropriate packaging design (tracing paper? or something soft and opaque as opposed to plastic)

Thoughts & Reflection:

During this time I have decided to pick and buy the stock that I need in order to create more realistic mock ups for Ruban to see in our next meet up. I was also glad that she agreed with my suggestion to change the plastic packaging to something more 'natural' as I just didn't feel like it fitted to the aesthetic and the style that we are pushing for. I feel that the plastic feels too commercial and takes away the pleasant organic feel that her photos convey as well as the overall vibe and tone of her personal branding. Also, as now we have a final business card design I will start to experiment on which greys I will choose and how I will have to work out the embossing on the card for her to see how it may look physically too. So far I think this collab is going really well and in a steady phase I'm hoping to create finals a week before their hand in giving her time to take photos of the end collateral and handing it in on time of if she wants some refinements we can do them really quickly.
