Extended Practice: Workshop (Brief Surgery)

  • Randomly picking people's briefs
  • Analyse them
  • Discussing with other group members about the brief
Things to consider:
  • Demographic/ Audience - audiences can be group of people or community who share a common interest  not necessarily just ages, gender etc.
  • "Background of 'History' should be in "background and considerations" bit.

Thoughts & Reflection:
I think it was a very good session and it got me thinking into refining my briefs after looking and listening to how people have written their briefs as well. I'll have to come back to my briefs such as the Independent led brief (Baybayin) but also for all of the brief as well I'll have to come back to them.

Friday FEEDBACK:

  • Revisit all briefs
  • Articulate briefs better in order to make sure that it is well structured and specific.
  • Make sure the dates are all correct

My brief was chosen was the ISTD brief therefore it was already very broad and non specific. I feel as though  I din't get enough feedback because I feel like the person analysing my brief did not realise that it was a competition brief, and I don't really have any freedom in changing the brief itself. I accidentally put in the wrong background/considerations from another competition brief which may have made it confusing as well. I will go back to the brief and make sure it is the write background/considerations and start to decode it as well  when I start doing it as it is unclear.
