• Appropriation of East Asian culture. – BUT
• Perception, Globalisation, Native Designers – APPROPRIATION & STEREOTYPES (it's counteracted but accepting the fact that it's not going to be diminished) 
• Practical could be Influential and Informative 
• Change people's perspectives 
• Make people "cultured"
• Celebrate DIVERSITY 

"The practical brief is intended to be an influential tool that will help celebrate diversity of East Asian culture and beauty. As suggested by S. Hall in his book "Representation: Cultural Representations and Signifying Practices', one of the strategies to counter stereotyping and appropriation is by accepting the negative images, and try to expand the ranges of possible representations and complexities of a culture and ethnicity (East Asian). Therefore, the practical brief can be used in order to change people's perceptions and inform them more accurately about the culture."
