Purpose
*show and give an understanding to how an object(masks) can hold so many meaning to different cultures resulting in drastically different responses in facing a pandemic in today’s society and how it can cause fear or power to people depending on their perspective.

Idea 1: Informational Poster?

  • culture gap between west and east about mask?

  • information about each culture written on the 'map' instead of places etc.

    Idea 2: Infographics or Stickers?

    • infographics can be put in lace were people tend to line up like the supermarkets?
    • could be like the small Brexit stickers or the Sagmiester & Walsh pins
    • small but straightforward

      Idea 2: Research Publication?

      • documenting various findings
      • highlighting important issues etc.
      • informative, long reads
Other Design Ideas: *stream of consciousness

      • 2 metres apart
      • Type can be girded 2 metres apart
      • 2 metre bubble
      • Type layout is design inspired by contact tracing - like a spider diagram, links in between information like how info in society and culture get spread around creating a stereotype resulting in fear and irony that now everyone has to wear a masks and that instead of using it as an attack it’s now a sign of solidarity that we’re all in this together
      • content can be info about the how masks are being portrayed and understood in dif cultures

        • The stereotypes
        • The west / east culture
        • The western world getting used to wearing masks
        • Normality of masks
        • Solidarity with masks
        • Content - quotes relating to masks from people, celebs, world leaders
