Extended Practice: Briefs Refresh!!!

Looking back on at my briefs I decided to cancel and change some of them as I thought it would be better for me to do other briefs that would represent me and brief that I enjoy more.

CANCELLED BRIEFS!!! :(((
  • COMPETITION BRIEF [ISTD MIGRATION TYPOGRAPHY BRIEF]
    • I originally picked this brief as the theme lined up to something that I'm really passionate about (culture) however looking back at it although the theme is really good and extremely interesting I'm already doing another brief with a similar topic and actually one that I'm more eager to do because I created the brief. Typography is also not my best suit, therefore I would rather do the brief that I'm more confident about rather than doing a brief that I feel like I'm starting from scratch with.
  • COMPETITION BRIEF [STARPACK - Packaging to help reduce consumer food waste BRIEF D]
    • I'm already doing another STARPACK brief which also tackles sustainability however I prefer the idea in that brief better as it's identifying an existing and specific brand that needs to be changed, therefore it would be best for me to cancel participating in this brief and focus on the other brief instead.
  • INTERNAL COLLABORATION
    • LAURADIO – Although I really wanted to do this brief as it was chosen from PPP last year. I thought it would be really hard for me to manage doing it alongside my other briefs even though it's done in a group. Also, because it's collab work I don't want to burden people with possibly not being able to catch up on it or do it properly therefore I decided it would be best if I will not participate in it anymore.

NEW BRIEFS!!! :)))

Thoughts & Reflection:

I picked these two new briefs as I thought it's a great opportunity for me to do more packaging design which I've already explored in previous briefs and also something that I'm quite confident about. They're also brands that I enjoy as well therefore I'm more willing to explore them more with a designer mindset along with my customer mindset as well in order to create designs that effectively answers the briefs and designs that I'm happy with.
