Structure:
- TITLE LOGO
- Intro Video - "How do you feel about 3PM?"
- Introduce main point -> Afternoon Slump
- Articles - popping up on the presentation (shows how much more prominent it is than we think)
- "See You at Noon" = "See You at 3PM" around 1656 (Roman Empire)* (bit of history)
- WHY? 3PM? : Humans have 2 bodily rhythms and they both coincidentally aligned at 'mid day' to create a "nap zone"
- Schools have conditioned us to work the whole day and go home at 3PM since primary school, so it's embedded in or culture and routines without us realising.
- Our attention spans are gradually decreasing due to new technology, shorter time perceptions etc. -> just like listening to music, Why are they mostly 3 mins? Is it to avoid a boring slump while listening? What does the PM even stand for? ....... mp3? *loop back to interview video
We decided to interview a peer as it was more effective than using ourselves as we intend to detach ourselves from the 'concept' and presentation in general. We were inspired by satiric conspiracy theory videos online and wanted to set, film and record our interview video in a quite raw and rough way, which showcases a somewhat serious yet funny mood with intentionally overlapping the audio to video footage.
This refined script initially had me, Jocel, Georgia and Kristen to talk one after the other but we felt that it may sound to jagged and off if four different voices talk as we cant match each others tones and intonations in order to create a harmonious flow to the audio recording. Ultimately, we decided that Jocel and Georgia will do the recording for a more concise and complete audio that matches the video.
Georgia also designed a more refined logo version which was extracted from the illustration that I created in my poster design, as well as the 'Article' part of our presentation.
As we were developing the presentation, we used the traditional presentation format and laid out our designs on slides however, as our original intent was to create a 'conspiracy theory' concept of the word 3PM and as we were inspired conspiracy videos on Youtube, we decided that it would be much more effective to create a video in a similar format with voiceover's instead of actually talking in the presentation.
Libby had written a script draft for us and we've decided to refine it further and Jocel and Georgia did the voice-over's whilst Kristen created the video as she's the most competent out of all of us to use After Effects.

(Working on the Video)
Final Video
Kristen created our final video as she is the most experienced out of al of us when it comes to After Effects and other editing softwares, we helped through gathering content to be put on the video however Kristen did most of the work, editing it for bout 6 hours straight :((((((((((((, adding transitions and audio that we thought would match the mood (thanks Kristen!!!). End the end, I think we managed to create a video that we intended to create from the start of this brief and all of we were very happy with how it ended up. Furthermore, we also uploaded the video to Youtube, as a way to introduce the presentation and concept tomorrow.
Thoughts & Reflection:
All in all, I think that we managed to create the exact presentation that we wanted to have and we are all very satisfied with how it turned out. However, the whole week itself was very stressful, as I felt like we were going in circles with all the ideas and intentions that we had. Although, we all knew what we wanted to create, because of the amount of ideas that we have, it seemed that that we just couldn't grasp which ones were important and relevant to the actual concept idea that we had set in the first place. Furthermore, it may also be because of the fact that we kind of based it off assumptions at first, the researched (but also not researched enough) because we were caught up with having all the visual ideas first as opposed to have substantial research to create the visual ideas from, that's why we had days were we didn't have much or not have any progress at all. However, though I think today we've cleared it all and managed to create the perfect presentation for the word and our concept behind it.
